Notes:
- The most notorious localization change here is Lucifer's name being changed to Dark Dragon. Lucifer is relevant in the novel, so it's kinda important to know his name. While I can understand that the localizers might not have had a choice in keeping a biblical demon name in the translation, replacing it with another existing character such as Dark Dragon was unnecessary meddling. Perhaps they were bothered at the mention of a lore character that doesn't show up anywhere in game, but that's no excuse for changing the story.
- The japanese version strongly implies that the god mentioned here is Volcanon, given the mention of him being from a mountain.
- In Final Conflict, it is revealed that the Force Sword was actually the Chaos Breaker from the first game. That feels like a retcon of this lore, where the sword was forged by some older hero. With that said, it's not impossible that "Chaos Breaker" just happens to be a type of sword, first forged in ancient times to defeat the devil kings and Dark Dragon, and that bringing a new version of the sword to Parmecia in Final Conflict was some coincidence/fate that made it possible for Bowie to find it in this game. Very convoluted explanation, but not impossible. Still, between this and the oddities with Hawel's age between games, it's way more likely that Final Conflict was retconning things.
