Ah, Max and Cain. Such a simple, straightforward story of tragic siblings with a heroic duty. And then it got shred to pieces by the localization. And retold a couple of times with massive changes.

My goal with this page is to summarize all versions of the core Shining Force plot, discuss their differences and any interesting development details. I want like, the ultimate masterpost of Max/Cain/Darksol/Ancients lore, because it's easy to get details mixed up when you've gone through four or so different retellings of it.
